There is great potential for raising performance in modern poultry production providing that the ever- increasing challenges can be overcome. Birds are stressed from management related factors such as changes of housing feed composition and presentation or vaccination. In addition, the high genetic potential poses some physiological stress as well as seasonally elevated temperatures. Nutritional support in sensitive phases of production is essential to maintain an efficient feed conversion e.g. in broilers at placement and during most rapid growth phases and in laying hens at onset of laying and peak of production.

Energy metabolism key to reach performance goals

Energy in feed is a major cost factor. Poultry diets typically provide one part of this energy in the form of high priced fats and oils. In order to make the best use of these valuable energy sources a smooth lipid metabolism is one prerequisite.

-L-carnitine is essential for the transport of free fatty acids (FFA) as an energy source into the mitochondria. Inside the mitochondria it is responsible for buffering excess FFA.
- Betaine, a known lipotropic factor protects the liver and helps to maintain cellular osmolality during heat stress
- Sorbitol provides the body with rapidly available energy via the liver while magnesium is an important cofactor in many enzymatic reactions, including ATP- generating reactions.

LOVIT LC- energy liquid is an ideally balanced formulation consisting of L- carnitine, betaine, sorbitol and magnesium for application via drinking water. It improves the utilization of feed energy in case of metabolic problems during all critical periods in poultry production. LOVIT LC- energy also stimulates the intake of feed and water and has a positive influence on the functions of the liver and kidneys.

Composition: magnesium sulphate, sorbitol, sodium chloride

Recommended dosage: 1-2 litrs per 1000 litres of drinking water for a period of 2-5 days repetition as required.
